Welcome to The Fraser River’s Edge B&B Lodge in Chilliwack

Meet Your Hosts — Mike & Adriana

Some people find their place in the world by staying put. We found ours by leaving.

Before Fraser River’s Edge became our home and our life’s work, we spent seven years living aboard our own sailboat — crossing 35,000 miles of Pacific Ocean, navigating remote coastlines, eating whatever the sea offered, and learning that the best experiences almost never show up in a guidebook. Two people, one boat, every ocean decision made together. Along the way we homeschooled our twin daughters between two countries, two cultures, and two very different ideas of what a classroom could look like. It turned out to be the best education — for all four of us.

When we finally came ashore, the Fraser River pulled us in. We’ve now explored over 44 countries between us, but this valley has a gravity that keeps drawing us back. Mike spent 25 years as a professional fishing guide on these waters — chasing Chinook, Sturgeon, Steelhead and Coho up and down the coast of British Columbia, guiding guests on nearly every major lodge on the BC coast before eventually building his own. In 2009, Fraser River’s Edge was born: a small, personal, riverfront lodge where guests could experience the fishing, the landscape, and the kind of hosting that only comes from people who genuinely love where they live.

That love of the outdoors runs through everything we do here. We’re avid scuba divers with thousands of dives between us, underwater photographers, hunters, fishermen, and foragers — people who believe that harvesting your own food from the land and sea is one of the most satisfying things a person can do. When we’re not at the lodge, you’ll find us in the Sea of Cortez on our boat, diving the reefs, fishing for yellowfin, and running our winter home at Villa Gemelas in El Pescadero, Baja California Sur — a place as wild and beautiful in its own way as the Fraser Valley.

We’ve been married 36 years. We’ve crossed oceans together, raised two daughters in this valley, built two properties from the ground up, and somehow managed to design a life that still surprises us. Fraser River’s Edge is the heartbeat of it — the place we come back to every spring with genuine excitement to open the gates, fire up the kitchen, and meet the people who find their way here.

This is not a hotel. There is no front desk, no concierge, no checkout kiosk. When you arrive, you’ll meet us. We’ll show you the property, point you toward the river, tell you where to find the best local food, and probably end up talking longer than either of us planned. That’s the point. We built this place to be shared.

Whether you’re here to fish the Fraser, escape the city for a weekend, watch the eagles from the hot tub, or simply breathe for a few days — we’re glad you found us.
